In this video, we are going to discuss where you should live if you are moving to Louisville, Kentucky, or if you already live in Louisville, Kentucky and you are looking to move somewhere else. So there’s going to be a few factors to this. One, of course is, how old are you? Do you have any kids? Are you going to school somewhere you need to be close by? Do you want to live by a park? Do you want to live with a big yard and a fence? Do you want to live close to walking distance to things? What are your preferences?

First you have to decide, what are those? what you looking for? What is your ultimate goal? Do you want to have somewhere where it’s cheaper rent but still a nice place to live? So, all of those are factors that we need to decide before actually moving, because you don’t want to move into the wrong house, that is not meant for you.

So, my recommendations on the neighborhoods I’m going to give you, are neighborhoods that are walkable, and then also neighborhoods that are more on the suburbs. So if you’re single and younger, early twenties and mid-to-late twenties, early thirties, and you live by yourself and you want to live somewhere walking distance to food places, bars, and events and stuff like that that are happening, the two places for you to move to would be the Highlands or to NuLu/Butchertown area. Those are two great areas as far as property values, crime rate being low, nice areas, walking distance, and some really nice things going on, great developments and a lot of investments in those areas. Now, if you are looking for somewhere less expensive that is still walkable, stuff like that, you can go over to Shelby Park. Shelby Park has had a lot of recent developments and things going on in that area. Also, like there, Schnitzelburg kind of area is a good area as well, and not as expensive.

Now if you have kids, and you’re looking for a place for the yard, fenced-in area, things like this, areas I would recommend: St. Matthew’s, Prospect, and then also as well, you have Crescent Hill area, which is another great area. These are all areas that I would recommend, as far as places to move to if you have kids. Also, some pretty good school districts over here as well. So win-win area there.

If you’re looking for somewhere that’s not as pricey, and you have kids and stuff like that, consider somewhere like Fairdale out on the outskirts. And then also as well, some parts of Jtown are not as expensive, and then Westport Road, and those are all pretty good school districts as well. Take this into consideration whenever you are moving somewhere into Louisville, what neighborhood to move to, and the factors of these as well.
